Valeria was born and raised in Guayaquil. She is the oldest of three children. In high school, Valeria was a volleyball player for her school and in the province. She was MVP and Captain's Team for five years. Valeria went to Chicago for a vacation, fell in love with the city and lived there for 18 years. One of the hardest things for her to do was to learn English. English is a very tough language to learn as an adult...crazy grammar, however Valeria was determined. She feels she is still learning. She has two adorable children...one boy and one girl. Valeria and her sister took Kendall College to their first north state championship. She is very proud of that achievement. She studied to be a police officer while in Chicago and served the Chicago Police Department from 2000 to 2011. In 2011 she had to have a spinal fusion done so she returned to Ecuador and has loved being back here since.
