Any pirate worth his salt – and he should know – will tell you that not all treasure is silver and gold.  A comfortable and tranquil home, near the ocean, with room enough for the entire family, and its own private poolside pirate’s lair would be a priceless bounty!

Remodeled in 2020, this amazing 2,960-square-foot, two story home in the Costa de Oro (“Gold Coast”) sector of popular Salinas, Ecuador, on the Pacific Coast, is a treasure you will want to capture as your own!  From the beautiful tiled entry to the living room in calming colors of a sandy beach, white sails, and sea glass, this home says “Welcome aboard!”  The dining area is separated by a partial wall, defining the space without sacrificing the feeling of openness.  It is furnished with a dramatic glass-topped rattan dining table and chairs that lend a sophisticated ambiance to the area without being stuffy.  The kitchen is a cook’s dream with a bank of windows flooding the space with natural light, custom cabinets, and gleaming granite countertops.  The kitchen island is also topped with granite with waterfall style sides, and features bountiful drawer storage and a built-in electric glass cooktop. One wall boasts a custom hutch that is both beautiful and functional.  Nearby is the awesome butler’s pantry with built-in ovens, and storage for every small appliance you can think of.  There is a convenient powder room on the ground floor, tucked under the staircase, with walls tiled in white in a wave design. The attention to design detail in this home is spectacular.

The three bedrooms are all located upstairs.  The master bedroom suite features a bank of large windows, a king-sized bed, sitting area with settee, dresser and television, and a large walk-in closet.  The en-suite master bathroom has a double vanity with white vessel sinks, a special make-up area, and a large tiled shower with double rain-showerheads.  The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed and en-suite bathroom, and boasts sliding glass doors to a balcony overlooking the pool area below.  The third bedroom is roomy with a dresser, en-suite bathroom, and its own set of sliding glass doors accessing a balcony with a view to the pool.

Speaking of the pool area…Ahoy, matey; you’ll find a pirate’s treasure here!  The sparkling pool, as blue as the Caribbean Sea, consists of three levels.  First, a broad step down to dip your toes in to test the waters.  Second, is a slightly deeper – yet still shallow – shelf with a built-in umbrella for a bit of shade to sit under.  The umbrella even has a small shelf so you can keep your drink handy while relaxing in the pool.  Finally, the deepest portion, for swimming and splashing with the family and friends.  Built in at the shallow end is the jacuzzi hot tub, surrounded by faux rock formations and greenery.  You’ll feel as though you are soaking in a secluded grotto!  Continuing with this theme, lush landscaping accents the poolside area leading to a covered lounging area with a huge pirate’s treasure map on the rock wall.  There is also a covered outdoor kitchen area with ovens for different functions, small refrigerator, and bar.  The décor includes a large custom wood sign letting everyone know that “Dead Men Tell No Tales” at this bar!

There are two convenient bathrooms by the pool area, and this home boasts two parking spots within the secure perimeter wall.  There is a laundry room with washer and dryer, and plentiful storage and utility areas.  Additionally, you will appreciate the security for you and your crew afforded by the security motion sensors, alarms, and cameras!
